My dear friend, Lisa, is an expert on how to navigate the emotional field.
Often when I'm struggling with something that triggers me and my own resources aren't working, I call her up and she says things like... "Where do you feel the emotion in your body?"
As a general rule, this kind of question usually annoys me to no end. When I'm not in a good place emotionally, the last thing I want to do is focus on it even more.
But she asks the question with such authenticity and knowingness that it opens me up to actually feeling the emotion, instead of attempting to ignore it or dismiss its importance.
So my fear of experiencing the emotion too much is not really warranted, since I hadn't even allowed myself to feel the emotion to begin with.
I just wanted to take this moment to show my gratitude and to honor her beautiful gifts. Thank you, Lisa!
